Studio Art I, Spring 2020

Art Theory 1 introduces students to an array of 2d and 3d media and techniques, including collage and painting with acrylics, printmaking through monoprint, collagraph, drypoint etching, and linocuts, sculpting and ceramics. While this course is very materials and project-focused,  the shift to remote learning allowed for more targeted skills exercises in drawing and a series of weekly challenges which opened the field to digital arts including photography and computer-based illustration. The students finished this spring semester by creating an independent series of five works in any chosen medium on any theme of personal importance.
